TruceAI Terms of Service and Privacy Policy
Last updated October 31, 2026
These are the rules for using TruceAI, and an explanation of what happens to your information when you do. Please read them fully before you install or use TruceAI. They are written to be clear, and they are long so that nothing important is left out.
By installing TruceAI, using it, clicking "Accept" in the app, or linking a computer or phone to your Google account, you agree to these Terms of Service and to the Privacy Policy below. If you don't agree, don't install or use TruceAI. If you already installed it, uninstall it and stop using it.
In this document, "TruceAI" means the TruceAI desktop app, its engine, the TruceAI phone app, TruceAI Remote, the TruceAI website and every service, update and feature connected to them. "We", "us" and "our" mean the owner and operator of TruceAI. "You" means the person using TruceAI.
Terms of Service
1. Who may use TruceAI
You must be at least 13 years old to use TruceAI. If you are under 18, or under the age of adulthood where you live, you may use TruceAI only with the permission of a parent or legal guardian who has read and accepted these terms for you and who is responsible for your use.
If you use TruceAI for a company or another organization, you confirm that you are allowed to accept these terms for it, and "you" then also means that organization.
You may not use TruceAI if the law where you live forbids it, or if you are barred from receiving software or services under the laws that apply to you, including export control and sanctions laws.
2. Changes to these terms
We may change these terms from time to time, for example when TruceAI gets new features, when the law changes, or to make them clearer. The date at the top of the terms page shows when they last changed. When they change, TruceAI asks you to accept the new version before you keep using it. If you don't accept a new version, you must stop using TruceAI. Using TruceAI after accepting a new version means the new version applies from then on.
3. Your license
We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use TruceAI on computers and phones that you own or control, for your own use, as long as you follow these terms. TruceAI is licensed to you, not sold. Anything these terms don't give you stays with us.
4. Access codes and accounts
If your copy came with an access code, the code is for you alone. Don't share, sell or publish it. A code can have limits on downloads, computers or time, and it can be turned off if these terms are broken. TruceAI may contact its activation server to check the code.
Some features use your Google account, such as TruceAI Remote, the phone app, syncing your settings and lending cloud models. You sign in on Google's own page; we never see your Google password. You are responsible for keeping your Google account, your computers and your phones secure, and for everything done through them, including by anyone you let use them. If you think someone else has access, unlink the device in TruceAI and secure your Google account at once.
5. What you may not do
Don't copy, sell, rent, lend, sublicense, share or otherwise hand TruceAI or any part of it to anyone else, except where these terms allow it. Don't modify it, build on it, or remove, bypass or tamper with its license checks, safety rules or protection. Don't use it, or any part of it, to build a competing product. Don't help or let anyone else do these things.
Don't reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble or decrypt TruceAI, or try to get its source code, GPU kernels or inner workings, except where the law of your country lets you do so anyway. Laws that allow this in limited cases include the EU Software Directive (Directive 2009/24/EC, Articles 5 and 6) and the US Copyright Act (17 U.S.C. sections 117 and 1201(f)).
Don't use TruceAI, or anything it makes, to do any of the following:
- Anything illegal where you are or where the result is used.
- Create, request, store or share any sexual content involving minors, or any content that sexualizes minors. This is never allowed, under any circumstances, and will be reported where the law requires.
- Create sexual or intimate images or videos of a real person without that person's clear consent, or make fake images, video or audio of real people in order to deceive, defame or harass.
- Harass, threaten, bully, stalk or intimidate anyone, or promote violence or hatred against people.
- Write, spread or run malware, break into computers, accounts or networks you are not allowed to access, or test security on systems you don't own or have no written permission to test.
- Get personal information about people without a lawful reason, or track or watch people without their knowledge.
- Infringe anyone's copyright, trademark, privacy or other rights.
- Send spam, run scams or fraud, or impersonate anyone.
- Get help to make weapons capable of mass harm, such as biological, chemical, nuclear or radiological weapons.
- Overload, attack, probe or disrupt the TruceAI website, its servers or other users, or use them in ways they were not built for.
- Break the terms of any service TruceAI connects you to, such as an AI provider, Google, Hugging Face or a search engine.
We may suspend or end your access to TruceAI's online services if we reasonably believe you broke these rules, and we may report illegal activity to the authorities.
6. AI output
TruceAI uses AI models to write text, code, images and video. AI output can be wrong, incomplete, out of date, biased, offensive or harmful, even when it sounds sure. It is not professional advice. Never rely on it alone for medical, legal, financial, safety or other important decisions: check it with a qualified person or a reliable source first.
You are responsible for how you use what the AI makes, including checking it before you rely on it, share it or publish it, and making sure that using it doesn't break any law or anyone's rights. Other people may get similar output from the same models.
As between you and us, we claim no ownership of the prompts you write or the output you create with TruceAI. Whether that output can be owned or protected at all depends on the law where you are and on the license of the model that made it.
7. Agents that act for you
TruceAI can let AI agents act for you: run commands, create, edit and delete files, browse the web, fill in forms, use your computer's apps with their own pointer, and use your phone's apps. These actions are real. They can change or delete data, send messages, make purchases or do other things that can't be undone, and an agent can misunderstand you or make mistakes.
You decide how much an agent may do in TruceAI's settings and when it asks for approval. You are responsible for every action you allow, and for watching what agents do. Before letting an agent act, keep backups of anything important, close or log out of anything it must not touch, and don't give it access to accounts, payments or data you can't afford to lose. We are not responsible for the results of actions you allowed an agent to take, to the full extent the law allows.
8. Local AI models and your hardware
TruceAI doesn't download any AI model on its own. A model is downloaded only when you choose it. Models come from their publishers on Hugging Face (huggingface.co), and each one has its own license, shown on its page there. You must follow it. For example, Qwen models are released under the Apache License 2.0, Llama 3.1 under the Llama 3.1 Community License, and Wan 2.2 under the Apache License 2.0. Some model licenses limit commercial use or certain kinds of use.
Running AI models is heavy work. It can keep your graphics card, processor, memory and storage busy for a long time, use a lot of power, make your device hot and loud, and drain your battery. Use TruceAI only on hardware that is in good condition and properly cooled. To the full extent the law allows, we are not responsible for damage, wear or data loss on your hardware.
9. Cloud models and API keys
You can add your own API keys from AI providers such as Anthropic, OpenAI, Google and others to use their models in TruceAI. When you use a cloud model, what you send it (your messages, and any files, pictures or screen images that go with them) is sent to that provider and handled under that provider's own terms and privacy policy, not ours. You must follow those terms.
Each provider charges your account for what you use. You alone are responsible for those charges. TruceAI's cost estimates and spending limits are a help, not a promise: prices can change, estimates can be wrong, and a limit can be passed. Check your usage and set limits with the provider itself. We are not responsible for any charge, overcharge or account action by a provider.
Your API keys stay on your devices, encrypted. If you sync them through your Google account they are encrypted on your devices first, so we can't read them (see "Your synced keys and settings").
10. Lending cloud models (API shares)
TruceAI lets you lend your cloud models to someone else's TruceAI with limits you choose. Your API key never leaves your computer: your computer answers each request with your key. This means:
- Every request a guest makes is made with your key and billed to your provider account.
- You are responsible for what your guests do with your share, and for making sure that lending access is allowed by your provider's terms. Some providers don't allow sharing account access. Check before you share.
- Each invite works once. The first TruceAI that uses it is bound to the share and the invite stops working.
- The limits you set (money per day and in total, requests per minute, models, end date) are applied as well as TruceAI can, but they are estimates and can be passed.
- If you use someone else's share, your requests go to their computer, which sends them to the provider. That person's computer handles your messages, so only use shares from people you trust, and don't send them anything private.
11. TruceAI Remote and the phone app
TruceAI Remote lets you link your computer to your Google account and use it from your phone. The TruceAI website introduces your phone and computer to each other and passes their messages along. Those messages are end-to-end encrypted, so the website can't read them. A new phone must be approved on the computer with a code.
Anyone holding an approved, unlocked phone can control TruceAI on your computer, including its agents. Keep your phone locked and remove any phone you no longer use. Remote depends on the internet, on Google and on our servers, and it may be slow or unavailable at times.
12. Your synced keys and settings
If you turn it on, your API keys and settings follow your Google account to your other devices. They are encrypted on your devices with a key that never reaches our servers, so we can't read them. A new device must be approved by one you already use. If you lose access to all your devices, your synced copy can't be recovered by us. Keep your own copy of anything you can't afford to lose.
13. Updates and changes to TruceAI
TruceAI checks for updates and installs them by itself. Updates are signed, and TruceAI installs only updates with a valid signature. Updates may add, change or remove features. We may change, pause or stop TruceAI or any of its online services at any time, with or without notice, though we will try to give notice of major changes when we can.
14. Third-party services
TruceAI connects to services run by others, such as Google, Hugging Face, AI providers, search engines and Cloudflare (which hosts our website). Their own terms and privacy policies apply to your use of them. We don't control them and are not responsible for them, for their content, or for their being available.
15. Fees
If you paid for TruceAI or for an access code, the price, and any refund terms, are the ones shown when you bought it, together with any consumer protection laws that apply to you. Cloud model usage is paid by you directly to the provider, never to us.
16. Feedback
If you send us ideas, suggestions or feedback, we may use them freely, without paying you or owing you anything.
17. Ownership
TruceAI, including its code, engine, GPU kernels, fonts, design, name, logo and documentation, is protected by copyright, trademark and other laws and belongs to us. The open-source parts listed under "Sources" below belong to their own authors and come to you under their own licenses, which these terms don't limit.
18. Ending the license
You may stop using TruceAI at any time by uninstalling it and unlinking your devices. The license ends by itself if you break these terms, and we may suspend or end your access to TruceAI's online services, or turn off an access code, if you break them or if we must for legal or security reasons. When the license ends, stop using TruceAI and delete every copy. The sections on AI output, agents, hardware, cloud models, shares, ownership, no warranty, limit of liability, indemnity and disputes still apply after it ends.
19. No warranty
TruceAI is provided "as is" and "as available", with all faults, and with no warranty of any kind, express or implied, including any warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, accuracy, quiet enjoyment and non-infringement. We don't promise that TruceAI will work without interruption or errors, that it is free of bugs or harmful components, that it will keep your data safe, that it will work with your hardware, or that its output or any AI model will be correct or suitable for you. Some places don't allow some of these exclusions, so some of them may not apply to you.
20. Limit of liability
To the full extent the law allows, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, revenue, business, goodwill or use, or for charges made by AI providers, that come from or relate to TruceAI or these terms, however caused, even if we were told such damages might happen.
To the full extent the law allows, our total liability for all claims about TruceAI or these terms is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us for TruceAI in the 12 months before the claim, or 50 US dollars.
These limits apply whatever the legal theory, including contract, warranty, negligence or other wrongdoing. Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law doesn't allow to be limited, such as liability for fraud, or for death or personal injury caused by negligence, and nothing here takes away rights that the consumer law of your country gives you and that can't be waived.
21. Indemnity
To the full extent the law allows, you agree to defend us and hold us harmless from any claim, demand, loss, damage, cost or expense, including reasonable lawyers' fees, that comes from: your use of TruceAI; what you create, share or publish with it; actions you let its agents take; your use of cloud models, API keys or shares, including your guests' use; your breaking these terms; or your breaking any law or anyone else's rights.
22. Disputes and governing law
These terms, and any dispute about TruceAI or these terms, are governed by the laws of the place where the owner of TruceAI is established, without regard to its conflict of laws rules. The competent courts of that place have exclusive jurisdiction over any such dispute, and you and we agree to their jurisdiction. If you are a consumer living in a country whose law gives you the right to bring a claim in your own country's courts, or to rely on its mandatory consumer protections, you keep that right.
Before starting any legal claim, you agree to first contact us and try in good faith to settle the issue for at least 30 days. To the full extent the law allows, any claim must be brought within one year after it arose, and only on an individual basis, not as a plaintiff or class member in a class or representative action.
23. General
If a court finds part of these terms unenforceable, that part is changed only as much as needed to make it enforceable, and the rest still applies. If we don't enforce a part of these terms, we have not given up the right to enforce it later. You may not transfer your rights under these terms to anyone else; we may transfer ours, for example as part of a sale or reorganization. We are not responsible for delays or failures caused by events beyond our reasonable control. These terms, together with any terms shown when you bought an access code, are the whole agreement between you and us about TruceAI. If these terms are translated, the English version controls.
Privacy Policy
24. What this policy covers
This Privacy Policy explains what information TruceAI handles, where it goes, what we do with it and what your rights are. It applies to the TruceAI app, the phone app, TruceAI Remote and the TruceAI website.
TruceAI is built to keep your work on your own devices. We don't sell your information, we don't show you ads, and we don't use your chats, files or prompts to train AI models.
25. What stays on your devices
Your chats, prompts, files, projects, generated images and videos, local AI models and app settings are stored on your own computer or phone. Local models run on your own graphics card. We don't receive or see any of this.
26. What we collect
We receive only what our online services need to work:
- When you sign in with Google: your Google account's ID, email address, name and profile picture. Google tells us these after you sign in; we never get your Google password.
- When you link a computer: its name, an ID, when it was linked and last seen, and a hashed version of its access token.
- When you sync your keys and settings: an encrypted copy that we can't read, with its version and time.
- When you use TruceAI Remote or lend or use a share: encrypted messages that pass through our servers and that we can't read, and the IDs needed to deliver them.
- When you accept these terms or answer about news emails: what you answered, which version of the terms, the time, where you answered (the app or the website) and a hashed version of your IP address. We keep this as a record of your consent.
- To stop abuse, such as people guessing link codes: a hashed version of your IP address and a count of attempts, kept for a short time.
- When you download TruceAI or its updates, or visit the website: the technical information any website receives, such as IP address, browser type and time, which our host Cloudflare processes to deliver and protect the site.
27. Where your information goes
Depending on what you use, TruceAI connects to:
- The TruceAI website (truceai-remote.truceai-site.workers.dev), hosted by Cloudflare: updates, TruceAI Remote, sign-in, synced settings and shares.
- Google (google.com): signing in.
- Hugging Face (huggingface.co): downloading models you choose. Hugging Face sees your IP address and which files you download.
- AI providers whose keys you add, such as Anthropic, OpenAI or Google: everything you send to a cloud model, handled under that provider's terms and privacy policy.
- DuckDuckGo (duckduckgo.com) or Bing (bing.com), and the pages it opens: web searches, when you let the AI use the web.
- The computer of a person whose share you use: your requests to their shared models.
- Your activation server, if your copy has an access code: checking the code.
28. How we use information
We use the information above only to: run TruceAI's online services, such as signing you in, linking devices, delivering encrypted messages and updates; keep TruceAI and its users secure and prevent abuse; send you news emails if you said yes; keep records of consent; and meet our legal obligations. We don't sell it, rent it or use it for advertising.
29. News emails
We send news, updates and offers by email only if you said yes, by ticking the box in the app or on the website, or by turning on "Email me news and updates" in Settings. The box always starts unticked. You can change your mind at any time: turn the setting off in TruceAI, or click the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any news email. We keep a record of when and where you said yes or no. Turning news emails off doesn't stop messages we must send about your account or its security.
30. How long we keep it
We keep account information while your account uses TruceAI's online services. A computer you unlink is removed from your account. Encrypted synced copies are replaced each time you sync. Attempt counts are kept for a short time. Consent records are kept for as long as the law may require us to show them. Website logs are kept by Cloudflare for its usual periods.
31. Security
We protect information with encryption, hashing, signed updates and limited access. Messages between your phone and your computer, synced keys and settings, and share traffic are end-to-end encrypted. Still, no system is completely secure, and we can't promise that information will never be lost, misused or changed.
32. Your rights
Depending on where you live, including under your country's privacy laws and, where it applies, the EU General Data Protection Regulation, you may have the right to see the information we hold about you, correct it, delete it, object to or limit how we use it, get a copy of it, and withdraw any consent you gave. Withdrawing consent doesn't affect what was done before. You can delete most information yourself by unlinking your devices and turning off sync and news emails. For anything else, contact us through the contact details published on the TruceAI website. You may also complain to your data protection authority.
33. Children
TruceAI is not meant for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child under 13 gave us information, contact us and we will delete it.
34. International transfers
Our host Cloudflare and many AI providers run servers in many countries, including the United States. Your information may be handled in countries other than yours, whose data protection laws may differ.
35. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. The date at the top shows when it last changed, and TruceAI asks you to accept a new version as it does for the terms.
